Third semester tasked us with an analysis of a big box store roof, bringing attention to the seemingly mundane architecture all around us. After a thorough investigation into the big box store, we were tasked with manipulating the existing structure to create something more inspiring. I worked to create a geometric roof shape by forming structure based on repositioning existing skylights in the precedent to better manipulate light, shining down into the interior of the form to provide natural light for a Kunsthalle art exhibit.
