I grew up in Northwest Arkansas during a period of rapid growth, which shaped my perspective on how architecture can influence communities. Immersed in the region’s strong cycling culture, I raced competitively as a junior professional, traveling to different regions across the U.S. and got to see firsthand how urban design can work to shape daily life.
Currently pursuing my Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Arkansas, I’ve developed skills in digital modeling, Rendering, and physical model making. My coursework has included design studios focused on a range of civic projects, giving me both conceptual and technical experience. I look forward to gaining experience in a wider variety of projects, especially residential and adaptive reuse.
While working with Rift Customs as a summer intern, I’ve contributed to construction estimation, client meetings, and residential deck design projects, and I’ve gotten hands-on experience in the field doing trim carpentry and deck building. I look forward to continuing this relationship during my time in school by doing part-time design work for the growing company. These experiences have helped to deepen my understanding of the design process, working on everything from early concept design with clients to final construction documentation and cost estimation. Diving into construction and design through the lens of a carpenter has helped me to better understand the connections between an architect’s drawings and real-world construction methods.
I see architecture as a bridge between people and place, and I strive to design spaces that foster connection between people. My long-term goal is to contribute to projects that not only respond to their environment but also leave a lasting impact on the communities they serve.
